† Vacation Bible School
Each summer Central Baptist
Church has a Vacation Bible
School for children ages 4 – 12.
Traditionally, it’s held the last full
week of June.
Our theme for 2007 was “Great
Bible Reef: Dive deep into God’s
word.” We had about 70 children
enrolled and 30 teachers and
helpers.
During the week we collected two carts full of food to donate to the Food Pantry in
Westfield and $224.00 for mission work (building a school) in Honduras.
 Set in an exciting
and fun underwater environment, this lively
VBS program engaged the children in
discovering how we can live each day as
God’s disciples.
Themes for each morning included: God’s
people care, God’s people help, God’s
people trust, God’speople believe and God’s
people listen.
Everyday we had Bible drama, “Reef”
tunes to sing, “coral” crafts, Bible lessons,
“seawater” science, “deep sea” storytelling
and snacks.
At noon, on the final day, there was a
special closing program for families
and friends. It was spiritual, fun-filled week
for all!
We are already looking forward to next
year’s Vacation Bible School. Planning
