The Christian Standard Bible (CSB) was created using optimal equivalence, a translation philosophy that pursues both linguistic precision to the original languages and readability in contemporary English.
The CSB is designed to be a translation everyone is able to understand — clear for new believers, rich for seasoned followers of Christ, with language broad enough to speak to many cultures, as well as a rigorous commitment to the original languages so we can teach from it with confidence.
And this is our context — new Christians, not-yet Christians, seasoned saints, strong readers, seldom-readers, young, formerly-young, majority/western culture, non-american/non-western cultures.
For these reasons, the CSB is the translation we use in the preaching ministry of Central Baptist Church.
