Luke Callender — Pastor
Luke was born and raised in Texas. He met his wife Dominee in the 3rd grade boarding the bus on the way to her church’s youth camp. The next year, the Lord rescued him when he placed his faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke studied music at the University of North Texas. Prior to moving to New England he served as a County Jail Chaplain for 8 years in Texas. He completed an M.Div at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018.
In April of 2019 Luke, Dominee, and their three sons Augustus, Rufus, and Virgil moved to New Bedford, Massachusetts to labor with a small group of fellow Christians to see a gospel-preaching, Christ-exalting church planted there in the city. God established and has richly blessed that church.
In 2025 the Lord sent Luke and his family out of that church to Westfield, MA to join the Central Baptist Church family. Additionally, Luke serves as a campus Chaplain at Westfield State University.
Dave Burgess — Moderator
Dave was born in Davenport, IA but spent most of his life in Western MA. He’s been in Westfield since 2007.
Dave grew up in the Methodist church. He came to Central Baptist Church when he married his wife Erika in 2006. Dave and Erika have a son and a daughter, Ian and Norah.
Dave completed a bachelors in Professional Aeronautics then later an M.A. in Theological Studies. He has been a professional pilot since 2000.
Since 2016, Dave has served Central Baptist Church through teaching a weekly Bible study. Dave currently serves as the church’s Moderator. He also teaches at CBC’s youth gatherings and preaches on Sundays throughout the year.
Gail Cervonayco — Administrator
Gail is married to Scott and has three children. Gail serves as Central Baptist Church’s admin.
